wood pellet mills which can process both wood and rice husk into excellent pellets. We can design rice husk pellet plants with different capacities.
The demand for biomass pellets has exploded in recent years. While as a kind of biomass pellets, rice husk pellets also have a broad market. Our company is specialized in providing high-qualityLearn about Rice Husks and Rice Husk Pellets
Rice husk is the byproduct of rice processing, the weight of which can amount to 20% of the rice. Rice husk is a kind of renewable energy widely used in sugaring or as fuel for industry or home heating. While the content of combustible is more than 70%, the most important use of rice husk is to use as fuel. Traditionally, rice husk can be burned directly in the boiler, or be processed into bulk. However, the rice husk can not be burned efficiently by using the above ways since the density of the rice husk is low. And what’s more, there is much air pollution when burning the rice husk directly. While how to use rice husk efficiently? Transferring the rice husk into biomass pellets can be an available solution.
Material | Average diameter | Ash content | Average density | Moisture content | Calorific value |
Rice husk | 2-3mm | 15-16% | 500kg/m3 | About 12% | 3024kcal /kg |
Rice husk pellet | 8-10mm | 6-7% | 1120kg/m3 | 10-12% | 4100kcal/kg |
Advantages to Make the Rice Husks into Pellets
★ Rice husk pellets can burn longer than rice husk. After being pelletized, the combustion rate of rice husk can run up to above 95%.
★ Rice husk pellets are easier to be stored. When rice husks are made into pellets, the density is greatly improved which makes them more convenient to be stored in large quantities.
★ Rice husk pellets burn cleaner. When burning directly, the ash content of rice husk is about 15-16%, while the ash content of rice husk pellet is only about 6-7%. Here in the following, we will make a comparison of the parameters of rice husk and rice husk pellet.
How to Make Rice Husk Pellets
1. Compared with other raw materials for making pellets, the diameter of rice husks is about 2-3mm, so when they are pelletizing into pellets, they don’t need to be crushed and since the moisture content of rice husks is low, so they are easier to be pressed into pellets. A dryer and Crusher are not necessary for a rice husk pellet plant in the common situation.
2. As rice husk material is light and soft, commonly a ring die pellet machine with an imperative feeder is recommended. The imperative feeding device can make the feeding procedure smooth and uniform. Thus the pellets processing efficiency is improved at the same time. For the 2T/H rice husk pellet plant, two sets of MKLH420 ring die pellet mill is ok.
Note: belt type conveyor is necessary between the pellet mill and cooler
3. A pellet is in its most fragile state as it leaves the die. Every effort must be made to handle this product as gently as possible until it is cooled, dried, and hardened. For a 2t/h rice husk pellet plant, we recommend a counterflow pellet cooler as it is more efficient and has a large effective cooling volume. If your pellet plant capacity is smaller, we can equip a horizontal pellet cooler for you. Coolers should be located where they can receive fresh air from the outside.
4. The ultimate process is packing and pellets storage, you can store pellets in a silo or pack them into bags, the weight of per bag pellets packaged by our automatic packing machine can be 5-50kg.
