Raw Materials Size Reduction for Feed Pellet Processing
Before feed pellet production in a pellet mill can take place, corn, wheat bran, rice bran or any other raw materials must be reduced in size. As a word says: “Only when raw material is of dependable quality, quality product can be processed.” Raw materials size is important for processing quality animal feed pellets in a feed pellet plant. Adaptive size of raw materials will make contributions to maturation of raw material for feed pellets processing. Fully cured feed pellets has a better taste and is easier to digestion and absorption by animals.
How Important Raw Materials Maturation for Feed Pellet Processing
Feed pellet maturation process is completed just before animal feed pellets pelletizing. When the crushed and mixed raw materials is fed into the ring die feed pellet mill, it will be processed by the hot steam created by a steam conditioner. Then because of the hot steam with a temperature of 100 ~ 120℃, the temperature of feed pellets raw materials will soon rise up to 80 ~ 90℃ and come to maturity. The steamed raw materials for feed pellets is more healthy for animals because a lot morbific bacteria will be killed. However, if the temperature is to high in feed pellets raw materials maturation process, some nutrients in the raw materials will be damaged. So, you should be cautious of temperature control for feed pellets raw materials maturation.
Adding moisture to feed pellets raw materials can increase the processing efficiency for animal feed pellets because the moisture can make the surface of the raw materials more smooth. However, too much moisture will be bad for the molding of feed pellets. Feed pellet manufacturers should set reasonable maturation time to get a balance between feed pellets raw materials maturation and moisture control.
